The role: Innovation Intern: Operations Coordinator

The Innovation team is the “tip of the spear” for our entire company. We operate with a zero-to-one mentality, or the idea that anything we can come up with, we can make happen. We take an idea (zero) and turn it into a minimum variable product (one) that usually turns into the next big money maker for Housecall Pro. And on top of that, we have the most fun doing it!

We are looking for an individual who is organized, detail oriented, and loves talking to customers. This role will focus on launching our newest product, Job Inbox, which puts real jobs on our customers’ calendars. As our partners send us service jobs, you will have the responsibility of triaging those jobs to our customers, ensuring the customer is set up for success, and tracking the results. This role is cross functional, as you’ll also report findings to our product and engineering team. Your insight will impact the design and rollout of this new offering that will drive millions of dollars in revenue for our customers.

In addition to non-stop learning, and the opportunity to innovate and execute new ideas, you will be working with 3 of the original 5 founders of a startup in the home services space that powers billions of dollars of GMV. In our world, anything is possible. You will be an integral part of the innovation team, and collaborate closely with the product, marketing, sales, community, and engineering teams to work on high-impact strategic and operational projects.

Responsibilities

  • Intake new work orders from our partners, and match which company is right for the job within our database of 17,000 customers
  • Connect with customers over phone/text to send job details, answer questions, and follow up for feedback
  • Meticulously organize and track all data in spreadsheets or other tools
  • Build systems and processes for managing a high volume of data that will eventually be built into an algorithm
  • Provide feedback to our product and engineering teams
  • Work on back end operations as well as customer facing tasks on new innovation team projects
  • Whatever exciting new stuff we come up with along the way

Qualifications

  • Must be self-motivated, passionate, coachable, relentlessly resourceful, resilient, and able to multitask
  • Not only confident on the phones but excited to talk to people all over the country
  • Excellent written/verbal communication skills
  • Ability to handle customer relationship management, and work in a fast-paced environment
  • A naturally curious, driven and dynamic team player with “hunter” mentality
  • Strong time-management and organizational skills
  • Highly desired: If you’ve built or started your own company before, or if you have experience in the trades/home service industry…. And you were more excited and fulfilled by that over school work, you’re in the right place.
